Google’ latest 1P mode: Generate more leads

The recent launch by Google - the First-party Mode is buzzing around the wall streets of marketing. You must have already heard about it (if you didn’t, don’t worry, I got you covered) but only from a technical perspective.

Let me give you a marketing aspect to it and how it helps you achieve your business objectives.

Why this matters for Lead Generation (in short):

  • More accurate data signals to Google Ads & GA4.

  • Enhanced measurement

  • Improves lead quality

  • Increases the number of leads

  • Bypass Ad blockers to track users

  • More privacy compliant server-side tracking.

The fish that’s gone…

Imagine this - You're fishing in a crowded lake, using a net with holes - you catch random things, not necessarily what you want, and the important fish slip through the net!

But with First-party mode, you're fixing those holes, and transferring those fish without any loss into your container.

Here’s how first-party mode works:

Sets the 1p cookie on the server-side (1P domain tracking) from the same domain through the CDN & Load balancers. Then it sends the data to Google Ads & GA4. This improves measurement accuracy through good quality signals.

Technically speaking, it uses a sub-folder of the website. For example, www.yourdomain.com/1pdmode

How 1P mode helps generate more leads?

The accurate user tracking provided with first-party mode helps you track their complete journey across the website to identify the key touchpoints. With the full picture of your user’s behavior and preferences, ad algorithms are trained to target the right audiences, helping you send them personalized messaging. This results in a more accurate and efficient marketing funnel, attracting high quality leads and providing better lead conversion rates.
