You won’t believe it - Recurring Purchase Increased 7x in Just 45 Days

Just made this one change to the campaign.

Hey,

You know my friend has a Shopify store that runs on Recharge. It is a subscription business where he sells fitness supplements.

The Hidden Real Problem

And it was always assumed the recurring purchases were “good enough” because the subscription flow was set up, offers were clean, and customers seemed happy.

But the truth is - It was leaking money without even noticing. His marketing consultancy thought that the issue was pricing or maybe customer fatigue.

But nope.

The real problem was something that they never paid attention to:
The tracking. Signals. The visibility into customer behavior.

The Connector - Solution

Once Recharge + Shopify was plugged into CustomerLabs, everything changed. Like… literally everything.

1PD Ops fixes that gap by capturing data from both platforms:

  • Shopify collects all standard events - page_view, add_to_cart, checkout_started, and the initial purchase.

  • From Recharge, it listens to every subscription webhook — subscription_created, subscription_renewed, subscription_skipped, subscription_cancelled, and subscription_reactivated.

Once 1PD Ops ingests these raw events, it doesn’t just store them; it unifies every touchpoint from Shopify and Recharge into a single customer profile.

You get a 360° customer view that represents the entire subscription journey.

Cleansed the data, and started capturing all purchase events: first-time, recurring, upsells; from both Shopify and Recharge.

The one change: “Recurring Purchase” as Campaign Objective

The recurring purchase events were sent to Meta allowing it to use a new event, cl_recurring_purchase, as the campaign objective.

And the magic happened

Meta’s AI began learning which users renewed repeatedly and optimized delivery toward high-LTV buyers.

Within 45 days, the results spoke for themselves; ROAS jumped by 32%, CPA for repeat buyers dropped by 27%, and renewal rate increased by 18%.
