New destination live: X Ads

We just shipped the destination for it.

Hellooo,

When was the last time you thought about X Ads?

Yeah. That's the point.

At the end of April, X started a phased rollout of a rebuilt ads platform. Modern retrieval and ranking systems, powered by AI.

Which means the scoreboard now reads: Meta went deep-learning. Google shipped Journey-Aware Bidding. OpenAI launched ads. And X rebuilt its matching engine on the same principle.

Every major ad platform in 2026 is an algorithm that learns from signals.

Sensor Tower data also shows the top advertisers on X this year include Comcast, Google, the NFL and American Express. First independent confirmation the big spenders came back. Shopping is now the second-biggest US spend category on the platform.

Rebuilt AI matching. Inventory nobody is bidding up. Most D2C brands are still ignoring it.

That's what an arbitrage window looks like before it closes.

So, we have an update of Wow moment…

CustomerLabs now supports X Ads as a destination.

Server-side conversion events from your 1PD Ops layer into X's Conversions API. Same data layer as Meta CAPI, Google, LinkedIn, TikTok and OpenAI.

Now here's why this matters more on X than anywhere else.

X's CAPI needs an identifier to match a conversion back to an ad - the click ID (twclid), a hashed email, or a hashed E164 phone number. Match rates climb as you send more.

Trace where twclid actually goes. Ad click → store → third-party checkout → payment gateway → thank-you page.

Browser-side, it's gone by the second hop.

So pixel-only on X isn't measuring X. It's measuring the buyers whose browser cooperated.

What you send instead matters just as much. Not "Purchase." You know how that story ends.

new_customer_purchase, because acquisition and retention are not the same campaign.
high_aov_purchase, so it learns your good buyer, not your average one.
prepaid_purchase vs cod_purchase, because RTO risk is a signal.
order_delivered, because that's the revenue that stuck.

Feed it "someone bought something" and it finds you someone who buys something. Feed it "first-time buyer, ₹4,200, prepaid, delivered" and it goes hunting for that person.

New engine, same rule.

Do run a small test with clean tracking now, so in six months you have data instead of opinions.

P.S. Reply "X SIGNALS" for the ecom event map - which events to create, which identifiers to pass, and how the conversion_id dedup key works against your pixel.
