First-party domain tracking, now in one click
Set up first-party domain tracking by connecting Cloudflare. CustomerLabs does the rest
First-party domain tracking sets the CustomerLabs cookie from your own domain instead of ours, so your data collection runs first-party. Until now, setting it up meant configuring DNS records by hand.
If your website runs on Cloudflare, you can now set it up with one click. Connect your Cloudflare account, and CustomerLabs finds your domain, installs the tracking worker and verifies the setup for you.
Why it helps
Recognize returning visitors for longer. The cookie is set server-side from your own domain, so Safari's tracking limits don't cut it short. You can follow returning visitors across longer sales cycles.
Capture more of your events. Tracking requests go to your own subdomain instead of a third-party domain, so fewer events are lost to ad blockers and privacy browsers.
Give ad platforms better conversion data. More complete event data means your ad platforms get more accurate conversion signals.
No DNS work. CustomerLabs checks your domain and subdomains, installs the tracking worker in Cloudflare and verifies the setup. If a record needs to be proxied, one click fixes it.
How to set it up
Before you start, you need:
1P Domain Tracking subscribed on your CustomerLabs account.
Your website's DNS is managed in Cloudflare, and Super Administrator or Administrator access to that Cloudflare account.
The subdomains you want to track are already set up in Cloudflare DNS.
Then:
In CustomerLabs, go to Account Settings > 1P Domain Tracking and click + Add domain.

Enter your domain without http://, https:// or www (for example, yourstore.com). Choose Non-shopify and click Next.
Add the subdomains you want to track, then click Next.
Click Connect with Cloudflare, sign in, choose the Cloudflare account that holds your website and click Allow.

CustomerLabs finds your domain, checks its DNS, installs the tracking worker and verifies the setup. When you see Setup complete and your domain shows Verified, you're done.

Good to know
If a subdomain isn't proxied, the domain shows Action needed. Click Proxy it for me, then Retry.
Pending usually means DNS is still updating. CustomerLabs checks again about every 30 minutes, or you can click Verify now.
The tracking worker runs in your Cloudflare account, so Cloudflare's Workers pricing and limits apply. We recommend a paid Workers plan.
Shopify stores use a separate setup in the same guide.

P.S. On Shopify? You have a separate setup, and it’s just as clean. Reply “1P DOMAIN” and we’ll send you the right guide.
